COVID19 UPDATES
UPDATE: MARCH 17, 2020
We are making some changes due to the COVID19 outbreak as per recommendations from the Nova Scotia Veterinary Medical Association.
Some decisions are due to health and safety issues, some are product shortage issues.
We are deemed and essential service. We cannot close.
We need to take necessary precautions to ensure the health and safety of all our staff and family members as well as our clients and patients. New protocols need to be implemented to help reduce risks for everyone and still meet necessary needs.
Please review these new protocols prior to calling or emailing the practice:
-Our hours of operation may be reduced. We are planning to close at 5:00 pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays and emergencies only on Saturdays.
- APPOINTMENTS: All currently booked preventive care appointments and procedures may be rescheduled. This includes annual examinations and elective surgeries (spays/neuters). Please be aware that one of our team members may be calling to reschedule for a later date.
-Ideally, you will all be able to use a cell phone to call us when you arrive for your necessary appointment or pick up.
We may come out to your car to either bring your pet in or take out your pick up items to you.
We may be wearing masks and gloves.
- PRESCRIPTIONS, OTC and FOOD PURCHASES may only be provided if you call in advance. Due to potential shortages of supplies, we also ask that you provide 7-14 days notice for medication refills and food purchases, and please avoid stock piling. We may have to limit purchases on some things as do our suppliers.
-PAYMENTS: We would prefer credit card over the phone or debit card and cash only if no other option.
GROOMING:
Walk in nail trims are cancelled until further notice.
Grooming appointments will be altered and reduced. Dawn will be in touch to advise on re-scheduling.
- We will remain OPEN as long as this is possible and our staff remain healthy. Only one person may be allowed in per pet. Communication regarding your pet may need be done over the phone.
- If you are not feeling well in any way, if you have traveled outside of Nova Scotia within the past 14 days, or live with someone who has, or if you have interacted with someone who has been diagnosed with COVID-19, we ask that you have a family member or friend bring in your pet and collect your medications and food. Call ahead to authorize pick up by this person.
-We will continue to increase our disinfection protocols to minimize virus transmission. We currently have hand sanitizer and you may be asked to use this.
Do not be alarmed if you see staff wearing full protective wear. No staff members are currently sick.
Thank you for your patience as we adjust to this new method of operation.
We will provide ongoing updates on our Facebook page. Things may continue to change as we progress over the next few weeks and months to ensure everyone's safety.
